CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY OF UNIT 194

It is the policy of the Board of Canadian Maritimes Unit 194 of the American Contract Bridge League (the Unit) that Board Members of the Unit will not disclose confidential information belonging to, or obtained through their affiliation with Unit 194 to any person, including their friends, relatives, business and professional associates and other Unit members unless the Board of the Unit has authorized disclosure. This policy is not intended to prevent disclosure where disclosure is required by law.

Board Members are cautioned to demonstrate professionalism, good judgement, and care to avoid unauthorized or inadvertent disclosures of confidential information and should, for example, refrain from leaving confidential information contained in documents or in computer files in plain view.

At the end of a Board Member’s term, he or she shall return all documents, papers, and other materials that may contain confidential information.

Failure to adhere to this policy shall be grounds for removal of a Member from the Board.
